New springs and new shocks are easily doable yourself .... but I've never done brake pipes, especially on an ABS/TC equipped car so I can't comment on them.

I can't check any TC prices for you as the site is still down

:(

Try andyc ??

About £45 each plus vat from Vx on TC, for the front skocks.
Metal brake pipes are as cheap as chips to have made if you have a good little car shop near you ;)

hi guys thanks for coments
decided to let the garage repair the car for 200 priced the spring up at just under 50 +vat  so with the cost of the pipes and new fluid i didnt think it was to bad
but i think i will get my self ready for next year and do the f shocks mysef in the summer

If I'm not mistaken ... shouldn't springs always be replaced as pairs ??

Same with shock absorbers ??

Or am I misreading your post ??

:)

mot bloke said only need to replace one as there wont be a lot of difference but with shocks he said both would need to be changed as the fluid changes over the years

Should be changed as a pair really.
As its the front spring thats broken it would be wise to have the shock replaced too as all the stripping down work is exactlly the same :-/
Thats what i would do anyway.

Would suggest that ANYTHING that affects the potential handling of the car be replaced in pairs - springs, shocks, discs, pads, wishbones etc - whilst related but slightly more distant items can be done singly, such as drop links, wheel bearings etc.   :y

shocks should be changed in pairs

as for the brake pipes i have found a set on line of braided stainless steel ones all round for £45 might be worth a look
