Giving some clue as to what is wrong, and what you have tried, along with the satnav type will be a great help.
-
I have the 2013 and the satnav works OK .. but the tomtom is better.
Question .. do you have the "right" CD for your system ?? there are several "variants" on ebay... and the wrong one will not work !!, and some of the ebay sellers lie ... or don't know what they are doing ( being generous) .. I found that out the hard way.. but got my money back :) ( 'cos I can be "not nice" )
:)

If the CD is correct and the system can't calculate a route then it probably doesn't know where it is at the moment, if that is the case then I would guess it hasn't got a GPS fix which will be down to no connection to the GPS antenna.
3 main connection points to check, back of head unit/cage, link behind right hand kick panel and I think there's one at the base of the antenna (Under headlining).
If you can give a full description of the fault it would help.

And if its an NCDC series radio, it most likely the connection behind the stereo, as the cage often distorts, resulting in poor connection.

hi thanks for the help it is a ncdc 2013 radio the gps stays red could be the arial reception probaly cant get a fix that is why it cant calculate distance im new to this game how can i get at radio to check satnav connection

Four allan grub screws need to be removed then a set of double din radio keys (from Halfords or similar) should allow you to pull the unit out.
Make sure you have the correct car pass (usually in the folder with the manuals) before removing the head unit.
If the GPS logo in the top right hand corner of the colour screen is red then you definately have no GPS signal.
-
thanks is definatley red does it go green if on?i have allan keys and card pass
-
Amber for 2d fix and green for 3d fix.
Red means it hasn't got a fix which is a reception issue.
-
And 9/10 its always the connection at back of headunit, due to distorted cage!

well took out the radio jiggled the cage now gps green and working fine thanks to everyone for there help and guidance ron
