Which one ?

Both systems are getting a bit long in the tooth, I've used both the Carin and Siemens, The Carin (with updated discs) will do  up to 4 figure postcode search the Siemens won't.

Updated discs are available from Ebay, the German site is  usually cheaper.

They were probably quite good for there day but not a patch on a TomTom, even with an updated disc :)

I disagree strongly, my Siemens system is great, and you don't need to carry it around with you when you're out of the car either.

The Siemens (Navteq) is quite good IMHO, yes it doesn't do 3D views or anything but at the end of the day it gets you there. The only thing i'd say is that you really need the colour screen to use it properly - you then get the map view with POI displayed.

It'll never be as good as a TomTom but then I never have to remember to take it out of the car everytime.

Carin does at least do postcodes.... Something the Navteq really should do.

both factory systems are ok, bear in mind, both around 10yrs old.  better feature sets on handheld, but built in ones work. Omega ones have clunky input interfaces though
