Title: Changing seat belt pre-tensioner - any probs?

My seat belt buckle jammed inside due to a rogue bit of plastic getting caught in the mechanism.  To fix it I ripped the plastic covering apart, removed said bit and wrapped the thing in gaffer tape.

It works fine again but I was wondering if it is difficult to replace (with a second hand one) bearing in mind explosive content etc.

Pretensioner change requires seat removal, not difficult but you need to disconnect the battery and leave it for a while before removing the connectors.

If it has electric fore and aft adjustment, you will need to remove the bolts before disconnecting unless you like lots of winding with the crank.

Thanks for the tip but I don't quite understand this sentence, not having removed anything yet.  Can you elaborate? Remove which bolts?

The four torx headed bolts that hold the seat to the floor, you have to move the seat backwards and forwards to access the heads. If the seat is full electric, you will have to use the crank tool if the power is off. If it's manual, just slide it.

Just watch the one bolt at the front near the centre console on both sids as that can be a bit of a sod to get out due to being a bit tighter than the rest. :y
