Hello All,
Noticed yesterday that my number plate lights aren't working, have checked the bulbs and they are fine, so dug my multimeter out to check the voltage - 0v.
Have started to trace the cable back out of the tailgate (it's Grey with a green stripe) to see if it's a loose connection at the back of the light cluster, but it seems to disappear towards the front of the car - I assumed it would just piggy back off the rear sidelights.
Anyone know where it ends up? Does it go to the main light switch?
Thanks in advance,
Pete.

Take the tailgate cover off and check any connections in there for corrosion, also there is a connector block in behind the roof lining, it's also possible the cable that feeds them has broken.

I have taken the tailgate cover off, the connections are ok.
There is a connector behind the cover, no voltage either side of that, but there is continuity from the far side back to the lamps.
From there the loom of six or so cables goes in to the car by the estate tailgate hinge, and then down towards the light cluster and towards the front.

Try putting a temporary cable between the plate lights and the N/S rear sidelight feed cable if they light then I would think that the cable is broken in or around the rubber tube area.get someone to watch them and wiggle the cables around in the tube to see if they light.
