Title: ticking Sound on cold starts

would this be exhaust manifold Gaskets? If so can I use pattern ones? is there a how2?

where abouts does this come from on your car?? I had this happen a couple of times but it doesnt happen any more?? Sounded like it was from cat area on mine

It could be.

Dont use pattern gaskets, genuine GM are multi layer metal adn much better than the composite rubbish.

Not many gaskets and seals requried on the manifold but, quite a bit of labour.

Could be a noisy tappet.
Had this on my V6 - a couple of oil changes cured it.

Does the sound go once the car has warmed up but come back under hard acceleration?

I would say its the exhaust manifold gasket.
