Post by: Omegatoy on 14 April 2008, 21:45:48
ar 25 to ar 35 on a turbo diesel whats the time frame for this job laying under the car anyone any idea? could use a ramp but have done me shoulder in and cant lift me arm above shoulder height without it screaming at me :( seems better when laid on the floor so going to do this from under the car!! less pain that way!!!

To take the gearbox off if you know what your doing about 1hr if you dont about 2.

i am not sure you have to replace any bits between the gearboxes

you need 2 pairs of hands todo these auto boxes as they are heavy

Silly arse!  Both for doing your shoulder in, and for chipping a tractor with ar25 ;D

I reckon someone like yourself, 4hrs.  You will need extra hands though.  Whipping intake off and starter motor out will probably make it easier if you're not using ramp.

Died of What??? what was up with it?

td engine is capped by vauxhall via ecu to save the cheapo Ar 25 they wanted to fit to cut costs, esigned to take approx 250 of torque thru it, actually it was taking  well over a third more and lasted just 97 miles before it started slipping, then 436 miles later it couldnt take it anymore!!! box is now toasted and roasted!!!!
 ;D

well it went reasonably well ::)but changing an autobox on your own is not an experience i would recommend!!! box appears to be lovely and smooth now, but the damned pietzo injector lead got caught under the inlet manifold somehow  and cut through it, removed inlet again to repair the lead but im knackerd and couldnt hold the doldering iron steady enough!!!! so the engine had no power and a great big warning light on the dash :-?  but the box didnt slip!!! so am happy sort of!!! :y
