Post by: bumbles5 on 20 April 2008, 13:21:31
Hi there a friend of ours has an omega and when he is turning corners there is a horrible grinding noise coming from both wheels sounding as though there is a dry joint any ideas would be appreciated

Not something as simple as mud flaps fouling on tyres?

Have they had the track rod ends done recently?

has he checked that the wheel bolts are tight? my friend had sililar noices and thought his CV joints had went, then driving at 70mph up the motorway we discovered it was actually that the wheel bolts were loose  ::)

i would hazard a guess at discs......

My facelift used to do this,  the outer wheel used to grund with a metallic sound, we founf the disc was somehow catching the backplate  :o
We removed the backplate and the issue disappeared, we then refitted them but bent them back a bit more than normal, issue solved  :y
