Title: Headlamp recovery...
Post by: philhoward on 26 April 2008, 21:49:42
Can't think of a better description!

My headlamps are probably like most - too many car washes/miles and they're rather cloudy looking, with a poor light output.  Is there a trick way to bring them back to life?  Was thinking Autosol, T-cut and even some "windscreen sealer" they have in Aldi at the moment (£4.99, looks like Rain-x to me)!

From your profile, you have original standard headlamps.   From the factory, they were hardly the best and age and plastic degeneration plays a part as well...

Would improve with very fine wet and dry and polish but the easiest / best option is standard projector lamp transplant, non HID.

Check assorted threads on here.  theres loads of info available on previous threads...   :y

As said best way is a second hand set of projectors unless someone has a good set of second hand lamps like yours, they do come up every now and then, also if you get second hand lamps check that the adjuster bits aren't cracked/broken inside as this can be quite common especially on the xenon lamps.
