Post by: bigphil1 on 29 April 2008, 17:02:18
Hi everyone heres a strange one.  I was sat in a queue temp went to about 90-95 fans kick in, great.  On my way home it began to cough and splutter rev counter was going haywire engine management light came on, I turned it off, started it up drove for about a mile then it started again light came on again then it went into limp home mode.  Left it overnight now its running fine???? anyone any ideas.  Is the temp I mention normal its a 2 litre 16v estate 2000 model by the way.

Cam sensor / Crank sensor - Clues are rev counter going haywire and limp home mode.

Sounds like me last week.

I took 2 asprin and had a good nights sleep.

Did you put the Asprin in the radiator before it went to bed for the night.

Wouldnt it be great if we could fix cars this way

Flip the ecotech strip off, and check for oil/water in the plug wells.
