Title: Courtesy Lights
Post by: tony1 on 02 May 2008, 22:02:38
Hi Guys-I recently bought a 2001 2.6L CD which is absolutely fantastic in every respect. My only niggle is that none of the courtesy lights work (saloon, doors, boot, reading lamps etc). I think all the fuses are in place because everything else appears to work. Its not a big problem as I say but when the dark nights come it would be nice to have the full omega experience and this is the only thing spoiling it at the moment.

Hi Tony, someone will be along to help out im sure, but i think you misunderstood the car details thingy that someone pointed out on you're introduction thread, they meant you to put year, spec, engine size etc. of you're Omega ;)

Sorry for stating the obvious but have you tried new bulbs in any of them?  If you've just bought the car it's quite possible that the person you bought it off took them out for another car or whatever reason.

What happens if you put them on manually? ie pull the main lights switch out.

It might be the time delay relay which is below the steering wheel up behind the fuse box.

Hi Tony, What fuse does it say in your hand book (bet it says 12)

Had the same problem when i bought my miggy, none of them worked, front doors, back doors overhead reading lights. Very bloody annoying, Noticed on the vauxhall website that there are 2 versions of the the hand book for the facelift miggy,s. Downloaded them both and compared , noticed some slight differences, one of the differences was the interior light fuse, one book said fuse 12 (which i already checked) but the other said fuse 7, checked that fuse and low and behold it had popped, put a new one in and as if by magic (THERE WAS LIGHT)
Try fuse 7 mate you may have the newer fuse box in your car.

Hope this helps mate
