Title: Odd shape bolts everywhere
Post by: puffa on 04 May 2008, 10:28:55
Now I know this sounds thick, I am in the process of changing my wishbones and have come acroos an odd shaped bolt head, I looked further and the engine bay is covered in them, they are star shaped on the end, but the opposite way to what I have been used to seeing in the fact the star shape is on the outside edge, does anyone know where a reasonably priced set of sockets/spanners can be sorced in this style and what the correct name is for the style?, I need them as on the N/S wishbone part of the self leveling sensor for the headlamps is attached via one of these little blighters...

any input greatfully recieved..

Steve..

They are torx bolts, pretty standard as a major fixing type for the last 10+Years.

These (http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/pro44-14-pce-tx-bit-set) from Machine Mart aren't bad. Halfords do some too, but the range of sizes is limited & the shoulder on some of the smaller sizes fouls,

Hi,
I got a set of male & female from this seller on eBay and are very good for the price, infact i have bought quite a few tools from them and have so far been impressed with the quality.
