This site is truly awesome !!!
Problem sorted, of the list of things to check I started with Mark's - connector on the lower thermo-switch - it had worked loose, reconnected and hey presto ! clutch kicked in - brilliant. Many thanks to Mark, Matchless, Kevin Wood, Dbug and others for taking the time to help. :y :y
very best regards

5 minutes of your time V £900+ from an aircon place ..... :-/ :-/
methinks you win that one !

Glad to hear all sorted with a simple problem and saved you alot.

Which just goes to prove that your air-con place weren't that competant, you'd have that the 'professionals' would have had a quick look at the simple obvious things first.
Well done! You can now justify spending £900 elsewhere on your car!!! ;D ;D

It's nice when, occasionally it's the simple (and cheap) fix that works. Well done. :y

Glad to hear its fixed ok.
By the way you can get to the compressor connector from underneath (run front wheel onto a block or ramp) & u can reach easy.

Cheers "dbug", yes I jacked the front up and it was accessible. Why not pop up the M1 on Sunday to the ABS/OOF meet at the "Plank & Leggit", read ste for details.
