Title: V6 timing marks

I changed cambelt to my car yesterday, camshaft sprocket marks were quite near to markings in backcover.
I didn´t have those tools, so i put those adjust pulleys in same positions as old were.

Those who had set timing with correct tools, how did those markings appear in sprockets and cover then?
Did they align correctly?

The markings on the backplate aren't as accurate as those on the tool in the locking kit. The locking kit also allows the crank to be more accurately set to TDC on no.1. I would try and borrow a locking kit and check the timing to be on the safe side.

The markings would only indicate if you got it on the right tooth, but the Omega V6 needs to be timed far more accurately than that if you don't want to lose performance or fuel economy.

Just changing the idler pulleys will cause it to drift - and of course these absolutely need to be changed - it's been suggested these are the primary cause of failure.
