Title: which model
Post by: ash18 on 09 May 2008, 10:54:47
hi all which models of omega come with cruise control?  8-)

Think just CDX and Elite...

can be added to all drive by wires, just by adding a stalk and having it enabled with tech2.

The cable'd engines can all have it retrofitted by adding the actuator and stalk, no computer work required.

They pop on ebay frequently at about £60-70
or you may be lucky like me and get one for 99p!

I agree, I have a '98 CD Estate and I don't have cruise control.

Thanks

I think its the most significant thing that CDX got over cd (or did climate come with cdx too?)

pretty sure factory fit is just CDX and ELITE

could be specified on any other for £500 I think..
and of course many people have recently retrofitted it ;)

i dont believe in C.control

i got eye - hand and feet and brain

and power ... never mean funy to any of u

why we have to have lazy driving style?

electric this and that and the other ...

look at the cars in 60 s and 70 s

cruise control optional extra thoughout the entire range.

Fitted as standard though to:

CDX/Elite's only!

Everything else it was an optional extra.

2.5TD & Petrol engines -2.2/2.6/3.2 - Cruise can easily be added, tech2 upgrade + new stalk + possible clutch/brake switch

2.0/2.5/3.0 petrols it can be added needs actuator and cable and few other bits

cruise control is often more fuel efficient than driving "manually"

on motorways and decent clear A roads I find i get between 1 and 3 more MPG when on cruise control than when not....

CC is VERY useful for ensuring you don't bust speed limits .. especially in SPEC'd areas !! :)

I find it great to make me behave...

Several times
I put my foot down to overtake
overtake then
I put my foot down to overtake
overtake then
I put my foot down to overtake
overtake then
I put my foot down to overtake
overtake then
look at the speedo, think oops bye bye license time :'(

With cruise I set it a a reasonable speed and keep to it  :y

you can fit it to a manual only difference to get it working is that you need a clutch switch as well

Try driving at a steady speed for 1500 miles in three days, when you're 6"2". If you don't have cramp in your right leg and back pain as well, I'll buy you a beer  :y

Also, as Jimbob said, it helps to keep your licence clean. 8-)

BTW, I agree with you about older cars, I never bothered to have it in my 1972 Monaro - I was too busy having fun with all the power :o

I really would not fret too much:  if you see sa car you like and it does not have cruise is it dead easy to fit even to a manual.  I wouldn't be without it.

Same here, it was always one of those things that i never wanted, right up to the point that i had it ;)

I would never have another car without cruise, retro fitted or standard.
