Title: Airbag warning light on
Post by: doz on 13 May 2008, 19:50:01
Ok If I've caused this myself then feel free to slap me with a wet kipper

I had a problem with the stereo in my car the front os door speaker didn't work. So I removed the trim today and started working back towards the stereo following the wires until I found the fault. So I undid the wiring loom at the door pillar and checked the speaker wires from the door to the speakers found them ok. Then I was asked to move the car so with the door wiring disconnect I started it up and moved it. I followed on with fixing the speaker problem I found the problem lied with the multiplug on the back of the stereo. For some reason theres the plug to the stereo and a little further up another plug. The fault was here so I disconnected it and using the ISO socket on my aftermarket stereo plug it straight into this plug. BINGO!! stereo works fine. SO I put car back together started it up and now I have the airbag warning light on  >:( >:( Now I guess I've dislodged something or by unplugging the door and turning the ignition on had one of the sensors unplugged. I did notice a blue control unit in the door but thought it might be something to do with the remote CL . I know I have to get this reset at a garage well I've just ordered some new software and now hope  when it turns up I can reset it myself. Is there any sensors in the dash by the stereo for tha airbag? am I right in now thinking the blue sensor in the door is for the seat airbags

I await my pounding with kippers please no frozen ones  :-[ :-[ :-[

I have a caradan software with elm327 interface. The problem being it only looks at engine codes. Just ordered the full package from them will be here in a day or two Specific for Vauxhalls. I'll have to wait and see if it's as good as my VAGCOM for VAG cars

I have a cheapo and am not too far away if I can help. I make regular journeys to the south coast to feed my gearbox change fetish :-X

My brothers outlaws live by you. I may take you up on that offer after friday. THe garage who are going to track it are going to try and reset it on Friday. I took it to a garage today but it wouldn't connect. He tried his gear on another car and had the same problem so it looks like his gear was up the shoot.
