But what the pictures do not show is for a facelift you need to remove the top plate of the steering column housing by unscrewing two screws accessed by turning the steering wheel to left and then right 90/180 degrees, and lifting off top housing. This will give (just) the right clearance for the extraction of the clock housing for bulb holder removal / replacement. :y :y

Hi,
Lamps for the Tacho / Speedo are 3w Capless type (on the 02 3.2 anyway)
Similar shape & size to type 501 (but this is a 5 W)

Thanks, I shall first seek the lamps! :y :)

When you have it out, change the four lamps for the MID.
The panel lamps will probably be blackened so you might as well change them all, I can't remember if there are three or four.

Ta, good idea - if i could only figure why the temperature/blower controls (center console) lamps light intermittantly all would be perfect :).

I would also add that the Vx (Caffyns) part numbers are
VAU 093190932 full price £1-03 each ex-vat
VAU 093190467 " " £0.72 " " "
for both large and the small (warning light) bulbs you may need whilst having the clock unit out (sorry, but I cannot remember which no. related to which size of bulb :-/ :-/; the unit price may not reflect the size as the small one comes complete with a holder!) :y
I hope this helps. :y

Ta Lizzie,
This is a great start :y

Try Autobulbs Direct, R509TGR0, 12V 2W green base. £7.5 for a pack of ten. These will fit the MID.
They may also have these;
The bulbs in the climate panel are the same base but 12V 1.2W, you may be able to separate the bulb from the base, Farnell part 113-9322 gets you the bulb.
There are five, change them all while you have it bits.
The panel illumination bulbs are 12V 2W, wedge T3, Farnell part 113-9442.
I think there are four.
