Title: Aux belt change help
Post by: SP_3.2 on 21 May 2008, 18:57:29
Looking to change my Aux belt on saturday i know that i need a 15mm spaner to take the tension off but can any one give me a walk by on how i do this. Is it the pully at the left of the engine as you look at it from the front. Have a belt on hold at parkers up the road.

Thanks for the help

yep. pulley on the left of the engine.  It's real easy but if you get stuck and you are in cov, pm me and i'll give you a hand.

15mm socket will also do the trick as long as it is a good fit - you don't want the ratchet slipping off.  I'd also regrease the tensioner bearing while I was there if I were you.  takes about 5 minutes

Take a digi picture of belt before removing - its amazing how many people cant work out how to route it on refitting ;D

Might be worth changing the tensioner pulley as well while you're at it. IIRC, yours was "re-greased" at Shifnal after getting a bit graunchy?  :y

And you can just buy the pulley, you dont have to buy the whole tensioner assembly.
