Title: engine not firing on number one
Post by: Policychecker on 22 May 2008, 12:51:46
HI, recently replaced cam gaskets car still not runnibg properly.

Took her to vauxhall no codes, but not firing on cylinder 1, spark is there (but may be weak), compression is fine, BUT no sign of any pertrol, so could it just be plenham not put on right or is it injecters or something else. running out of cash for this. the chap at vauxhall doesn't recon it is coil pack. have to do it myself from now on.

So the ECU light is not on at all?

Possibly a clogged injector or one stuck shut given the described symptoms.

Generally a failed DIS pack results in two cylinders going down but, I would measure the resistance of the plug lead also (should be between about 2Kohm and 10Kohm dependent on length)

don't think the ecu light is on

I'm just wondering if i inadvertenly messed up the injector rail, i tried to take electical conectors off and one spring popped off, not sure if mechanic put it back on. it would have been the first one from the front of the engine or the second one.
