Title: fuel warning light on 3.2
Post by: feeutfo on 23 May 2008, 10:45:24
fuel warning light on my old cdx would come on almost bang on with 50 miles range showing. My new 3.2 elite is down to 30miles range and not a peep. Anything wrong? Or does the 3.2 do it differant?

My 3.2 MV6 fuel light comes on at 30 mile range so sounds normal.

i ignore the computer's range, the fuel light on the main gauge comes on when you have a certain amount of fuel in, whereas the range only estimates how many miles it "thinks" you'll get out of the remaining amount of fuel based on your manner of driving

I've had mine down to 4!  ;) There was still a gallon left in the tank though as I then got 67/68 of those metric things in the tank.

I've had 18m past 0 in MV6, though admittedly I changed in to Miss Daisy until I filled up!  Took 72l...

yep, came on 22 miles showing on way home tonight. Thanks guys. Just seen last phew posts about ignoring range, 3.2 is new car to me. But 99cdx seemed pretty accurate down to the list 1/4 tank /range. I even ran it dry twice deliberatly with a can in the boot just to see how accurate it was. It did an extra 2 miles both times before stopping. Maybe 3.2 needs to get used to my driving? Anyway, it aint broke which is most important. Cheers all.
