Post by: bth2bth2 on 26 May 2008, 20:08:30
hi all,
am thinking of buying a 3.0 mv6 est. what are the main points to look out for?
is the 3.0 any better than the 2.5? fuel consumption isnt an issue.
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

If fuel consumption isn't an issue then yes a 3.0 is better than a 2.5. An MV6 isn't a proper MV6 in my opinion unless it is 3.0 or 3.2.

Only my opinion though.

In a 0-60 sprint, 3.0 isn't much quicker than 2.5 due to gearing.  Pulls much better above those speeds though, and more effortless :y

Agreed, but with these cars who cares about 0-60 times?

With the big Vauxhalls, it is always about 60-100 times ;)
