Title: Central Locking
Post by: Proz on 27 May 2008, 18:19:47
Hi all  .....
My drivers door wont open using the remote , but all others do . If i go to lock it using the remote the drivers button thing stays up , all the others go down then a second later they pop up again .... from inside the car if i manually press the door button it works to open and lock ..... the car is relatively new to me so im not sure if theres any procedure to clear this or is it just broken .... just started doing it today.....only had it a week but it i suppose it is under warranty  :'(.....

Thanks

If the knob twitches when you use the remote then the mechanism inside the driver's door is stiff and needs greasing.

If the knob doesn't move at all the soleniod inside the driver's door has failed.

You need to take the door card off to sort it out.

Firstly you live a great place, as for the drives door remote lock, common problem with all years and types of Omega, cheap fix take off door card to gain access to solenoid and soak it in WD40, working it all the time, this can sort it long term. option two take it to a Vauxhall get charged £150 to supply and fit a new solenoid, three new solenoid and fit yourself. WD40 best option  ;) ;)

Well the button doesnt even twitch so it looks like its the solonoid then ... the car came with a six month warranty so i think i'll give them a phone as im sure i saw that the central locking was covered ..... are you familiar with this area  :y
