Title: Wipers parking inthe wrongplace
Post by: ricardo1500 on 29 May 2008, 09:12:51
Hi all
Yesterday my wipers suddenly decided to park in the wrong place

They sweep as normal and return to the bottom of the screen but then go up a bit as in the photo before stopping.  They both seem to be tight as normal, I could understand one coming loose but not both at the same time....any one got any ideas please

I'm at work so can't see your photo. Sounds like the drive has become loose between the motor and the arm that drives the mecanism as a whole. If you remove the whole wiper mechanism from the car, you'll see a small plate/arm bolted to the motor via a taper shaft. It's this nut that's come loose. You'll also see 2 V's that need lining up with each other like : ><

Good. Glad you're sorted. The cost free fixes are always the best! :y My wife had the same problem years ago in my Senator when it started piddling down as she was on her way home. They just stopped though in the middle of the screen. ::)
