What's the symptoms of failed rear subframe bushes on an estate ?
I'ver got a low volume chatter from the rear on mine which I cannot seem to eliminate. It's not speed related and doesn't sound like a wheel bearing . The rear wheels turn freely with no drag or grating.
I've just fitted new rear shocks and new rear uprated GM springs new GM Elite wheels all round and new 235 tyres Oh, and a new rear exhaust section with new rubber hangers. The car was NCT'd ( MOT'd) last month.
The chatter ( and it is low volume ) was there before which I thought was possibly a poorly balanced rear wheels or a duff tyre.I sprayed the rear trailing arm and anti roll bar bushes with a silicone grease when I was doing the springs .
I've noticed a creak from the rear wheel well sometimes when I alight from the car (i've already did the rmetal relief at the rear footwell area ) so I'm now wondering if the bushes are the cause .
Failing that it's a leprechaun doing a drum roll whilst hiding behind the trim and they're impossible to get rid off....... :'(

subframe bushes shot are more of a heavy knock really but i suppose they could give a chattering if only just on the way out, have you checked centre bearing on prop? sounds more like that to me
