travelling down dual carriageway, when noticed battery light came on , then temp warning light :o
stopped as soon as I could on slip road, and discovered aux belt in shreds! Luckily didnt break cambelt but broke wiring to a sensor by the crankshaft pulley and broke the vacuum pipes to the multiram.
Tensioner is siezed solid and some plastic has melted.
Anyone now how much these are from Vaux (on TC)?

Cheap ... for just the pulley ... don't know about the whole thing + belt mind ... :(
Pulley change is a doddle .. 5 minutes .. but I believe the tensioner is a tad more work, and the belt can be awkward due to having to move other bits out of the way
Pulley is part no 9157962 and I paid £24.38 ( 20.75+vat) .. not a TC item but I got trade discount.. full price is £23.05 +vat - that was in march

Hmmm, I might get away with just the pulley then?
I actually only changed the belt recently to a genuine vaux belt and the tensioner worked then.
Perhaps its just the pulley.

It will be just the pulley, dont worry about the tensioner bit.

I'm no expert .. but if the tensioner bit moves ... ie swings against spanner pressure then its probably just the pulley that has siezed ... ??

Pulley was £21.39+VAT - got a small discount there.
Belt is £17.95 + VAT via TC

All sorted now.
Engine started and no ECU codes :) phew! :) :) :)
Tensioner totally dis-integrated and belt was in ribbons.

Glad to hear all sorted .. :y :y :y :y

glad it was sorted, and with no cam belt damage as well......it might be worth buying a lottery ticket this week, lady luck is smileing on you.
I have seen many pulleys seize, the belt shred and get ingested into the cambelt area and the damage is generally phenominal.
