I have just started having problems with the rear automatic levelling system that is provided by what I believe is a small compressor under the rear of the car feeding 2 cylinders. The compressor has just started to come on at any time when the car is stationary (No ignition on) and stays on raising the rear suspension on the car right up, even when raised it stays on. The only way I can get it to go down is to put the ignition on, but once the ignition is turned off it is'nt long before it starts to go up again. Any ideas on what the problem may be?

Ok, check the relay in the cabin fuse box (K19, top row, right hand one next to the diag plug) to make sure its not got welded contacts (this is the most likely cause)
I assume nothing else is behaving strangely?

Thanks for your advice, nothing else is happening (Only the alarm going off sometimes when it starts going up). The fault does seem to happen at any time and not always immediately after the car has been parked and locked. Does this still point towards a possible relay problem?

Yes, check the relay as suggested :y

I have tested the relay and it is working OK, the relay coil is receiving a 12v supply which is causing it to close the contacts on the relay, the actual contacts are not sticking. Do you know what controls the supply to the relay?

Could the switch connected to the offside rear suspension arm, that tells the compressor when to raise the suspension, be faulty? Or one of the connecting arms bent?
