On my 52 plate cd there is a little bee sting type ariel at the back of the roof ( its only about 2 inches long ).... i thought the omegas radio ariel was built in to the rear screen ?.... there is no sign of a phone ever been fitted to the car so what is this little ariel for ?? Pointless question i know but its getting the better of me now :y

Could it be for Sat Nav?
-
I have this on mine, both the ariel in the back window and the ariel on the roof. No sat nav daz so its got me what its for..

I've got one... I can only guess that it's for the phone?

Trafic Master??
I'm fairly sure the TM doesn't have an external ariel... I had the little bu99er off yesterday as well... Should have looked to see what lost signal! I know it wasn't the radio because I was still listening to it!

The base (the fat lumpy bit at the bottom) is the GPS reciever, whilst the short bee-sting aerial is a GSM phone aerial.
Your car may not have a phone fitted, but the wiring loom is there for if you were to fit a hands-free car kit and it is connected to this aerial.

Mmmm ...thats good then if all the wiring is there if i ever decide to fit these things ... Cheers :y

Its a cellular aerial, and just means your car has been prewired for a phone kit. A significant proportion of mni facelift on cars are prewired.

On my TM i found the aerial behind the heater control panel a black and red wire. Also the aerial on my roof has a phone aerial cable attach to it to which the other end is behind the kick panel on the drivers side.
