Title: Quite alarming
Post by: Leomas on 05 June 2008, 10:46:16
Now here's a thing. Several times recently my alarm has gone off for no apparent reason, twice I have been close enough to see that no 'little gentleman' has been around to encourage it and this morning I was signing the postie's little book to accept a letter when it went off right in front of me.
The car is parked facing South so I wondered if it was possibly heat related? Clutching at any passing straw a bit here.

Check the bonnet switch mounting bracket is not bent......you can unplug the switch to prove if this is the cause.

disconnect the bonnet sensor or renew the bonnet sensor and see what happens!

the bonnet sensor lives strangely enough under the bonnet on the passangers side near the scuttle plate / pollen filters its a little stick thing with a ruber gator on it

they usually fail and cause these symptoms
