Title: Infra Red Key Fobs
Post by: Humpy on 06 June 2008, 09:41:20
I seem to remember in these hallowed pages that a radio (ie not the very early meegas like mine) key fobs had to be programmed by Tec 2 or the like but do the Infra Red ones? I only ever had one key fob and that's not particularly good so I've got another on the way from you know where but wondered what the procedure would be to get it working for my car.

Another thing, would my ignition key have an imobiliser transponder chip in it? Or can I just get another ordinary key made up? Ta.

If you have an infrared remote then it does need programming by I think Tech 1!

As for the immobiliser chip, the remote setups do NOT have a transponder chip in the key so a new key will simply work.
