Title: Disconnecting battery Questions

Hi guys
                 I need your expert help ! I have a a couple of Omegas my question is when I remove the battery from my 98 Elite v6 its fine just take it out swap it charge it etc no probs all i need to do is reset Radio/cd login ....But
When I disconnect the batterey in my 99.. 2.0 CD model as soon as I do this the immobilzer alarm goes off seems like for ages so I end up putting it back on before neighbours come out to see if cars being nicked LOL ! is there something else I should be doing before disconnecting batttery or will the immobilizer eventually stop  & how the hell does it work when no battery ? :)

Need to disconnect the battery within 15 seconds of turning off the ignition, iirc

Loosen the negitive terminal nut, turn the ignition on /off
You have 15 sec to remove the terminal from battery

or remove the battery with the ignition on!

Thanks guys thats done it Battery now recovering in garage for a while as wont be running the car for a few months  just turning it over occasionally

You will find when you come to reconnect the battery that not only will the radio code have to be entered but also other things like climate control, electric windows, electric sunroof etc. if you have them may need to be reset. All covered in various posts on here.

and be ready when the alarm goes off (if fitted) just have the key fob handy
