Hey thr names Liam and i jst bought a black 2.5 v6 elite in black with 200k on the clock, this is my second Omega over the last 5 yrs. I do motorway mils and with a new business money was tight so i had a budget of a grand. the car i bought looks greta but my luck with cars is less than perfect. i needed a exec car as a few clients are snobbbbs and a grand does not go a long way. After 5 mins in the car i remembered how great Omega's are.
Can anyone advise as i want to keep the car.
q= the fans are on all the time the car temp gauge goes to approx 80 but not over, is it a faulty switch.
q= with it doing a lote of miles should i find an oild engine additive that will lenghten the engine life??????
My car came with plenty of receipts the last receipt bill came to £1800
What puzzles me is =
The description of work done
1 replace cylinder head gasket - damage due to overheating
replace engine with s/h unit the s/h engine cost £650 ???
engine mount broken
coil pack deteriorated
cooling fan inmop- replace sensor
Any ideas??
Thanks
Liam

Hi Liam
Welcome to the forum :y
I'm moving this to the General Help section, as you will get better responses.

Welcome Liam :)
Before we go further, what age is the car (it affects what temp it should run at)?
Fans on all time sounds like someone has bodged it to keep temp as low as poss, which rings alarms with the HG thing and the fan switch replaced.
Look ad rad - see where the top rad hose joins? Just below is an electrical connector? Unplug this, then see if fans still come on. If they don't, the rad switch is faulty.

Oh, one thing, if the A/C is on, the fans will be on, so everthing may be near normal. Try it with A/C off (ie, ECO on)
