Right, I have a few blisters of rust in the usual places. How is it best to treat? or is it worth treating?
Also, considering a repray in different colour. Any idea of costs, or how to go about changing on DVLA ect?
Thanks in anticipation :y

i have used kurerust(think thats how its spelt) by holts very good
respray varies from cheap (not good)to very expensive (Very good)
ruff price £500 to £2500
changing colour is easy via dvla and v5 just fill in the change details

How does the rust stuff work?? what do you have to do exactly? (I am a numpty by the way!)
Would i need new parts if being resprayed? Thanks for the help :y

you clean up the rust with wire brush and the wet and dry then just paint it on it uses some type of chemical to turn the rust back into metal (goes black)then just fill and paint with primer
replacement parts wont be needed if the rust is not to bad unless there very badly dented
i would go to a half decent bodyshop and get a quote as most of the cost is in the prep work

Thanx mate :) :) very helpful :y

Unless you completely remove ALL the rust then no matter what you paint over it the rust will just return and all your work will be fruitless.
You need to grind the rust out until you have bright clean metal even if that means making a hole or two.
I would not recommend changing colour by a respray, unless you strip the car down and spray inside door shuts and under bonnet as well, even then a respray even if done well is usually second best.
