Hi, got a 2.2 omega, when starting from cold it only fires on 3 cylinders, this lasts for about a minute or two then as it gets heat into it, it runs on all 4 fine. There is a slight misfire between 2 and 3 thousand revs all the time. It is coming up with fault code po170. Any good ideas??

Petrol or Diesal?
-
The code is related to lamda, but this shouldn't be an issue during warm-up
-
Is petrol.

Can you update your profile with location etc.
My misfire was caused by oil in plug wells........suggest that be first place to check :y
-
Plug wells are clean, have put new plugs in and gave the wells a clean. Its had new air filter, oil and fuel filters too.
-
Is that the only code you are getting?
-
Yes, when i clear the codes will go a day or 2 before the management light comes on again, but the faults are there regardless.

Could possibly be a vacuum leak or MAF sensor.
-
changed the maf sensor, made no diference. All vacuum pipes seem intact, had them off to check if they were blocked.

Hi, still not had any joy at finding anything that has helped yet. Have had some suggestions from a friend and thought id see if anybody thinks it cud be worth trying. Was told could be the lambda sensor causeing the fault code and misfire, and the temperature sensor causing the poor starting. If the temp sensor is faulty, would this bring up a fault code? Im assuming there is a seperate sensor for the cold start and the gauge as the gauge seems to work perfect. Anybody know where the ecu temp sensor is on a 2.2? Ive looked and cant find anything, no doubt its hidden in a sod of a place to get to!!
