Post by: V6drift on 13 June 2008, 19:42:35
i need some helpful advice on my central locking please,
if i lock and unlock the drivers door using the key, everythings fine,
but when using the remote, the drivers lock wont lock or unlock but the others do,

If it's just the one door it sounds like a solenoid.  Maybe just needs the door panel off and lubricating.  :y

Exactly the same happened to mine .... drivers door wouldnt lock or unlock using fob but was fine with key .... Vx replaced the door motor at a cost of £135 ... luckily it was covered by my warranty  ;)

i forgot to say that this is an intermitant fault,
doesnt work 99% of the time but occasionally does,

any more ideas? and does anyone have the parts to fix it?  :y

Exact same has happened on mine.  It started as an intermittent fault but doesn't move at all any more.  Think the motor or solenoid needs replaced.

You can lubricate the solenoid and it will help for a while.  It's the black plastic part with a white top which is connected to the locking rod.  Slip back the rubber gator and lift the rod up and down while spraying in a lubricant.

Yup it starts off intermittent then totally stops working had one replaced wasnt too much, but 5yrs later same again (hell 5yrs) didnt realise it was that long ago..only just finally stopped working so its the key only for me for a while till I have time to fix it !
