Hi Folks,
I noticed at the weekend that the fabric coating on the brake vacuum hose has been worn away (the hose that runs from the top of the throttle body, into the brake servo next to the brake master cylinder).
The hoses are held in place by some odd looking fixings - they're round, but have (for want of a better description) an "ear", one on each side.
Any idea on how to remove them?
Cheers

If its a fabric covered hose than its not original!
The original hoses are a sold plastic pre-formed construction

Aye, I've seen that type of hose before, but when I spoke to Vauxhall for a price for the hose and gave them my reg number, they said that it's fabric covered, re-inforced with metal (which tallies up with what's currently fitted to mine)

Correct, the replacement hoses Vx sell are made out of lengths of fabric covered hose......as said though, the originals are not.
Trouble is that the repalcement hoses actually dont fit and route very well so they might have used some non-standard clip to secure it.

Sounds like a standard crimped hose fitting. Try carefully cutting the fitting with a junior hacksaw thus splitting it and removing the clamping pressure.

Sorry MDTM - my misunderstanding. Any reason why they changed the hose types??
And cheers for the advice Alan - junior hacksaw it is! :D Will just bang some jubilee clips on it once changed.
Thanks again :y
