Title: sticky gas pedal
Post by: DC on 16 June 2008, 22:43:01
Has anyone experienced sticky gas pedal on a V6 (2.5 in my case). What’s the reason and how to cure it? Very annoying - can’t drive smoothly. Thanks

Thanks Mark. Throttle body cleaned recently. Is there a specific point on the cable where it happens? Are they known to snap on these cars?

Am asking this cause have had a bad experience with Renault clutch-cables in the past (on rhd cars). Wouldn’t like to have something similar on this car. It does seem to be coming from pedal end of the cable. The other end is in good shape. How can I fix this apart from replacing the cable?

That is annoying bit of driving an old car. Even though it is mechanically perfect, there are always some small things that piss me of

Buy a facelift omega - electronic throttle  ;D  :y

Plenty of the old WD on each end I would say? Guessing it's the pedal end, get your head right in there to have a look, don't spray your eyes mind!
