Anyone got any info on removing a steering wheel airbag on a facelift Omega, i have done a search on the forum to no avail.

Yep disconnect the battery then go have a cup of tea before you start messing with it. Allows the airbag circuit to discharge so you don't get any unexpected bangs.

How does the airbag detach from the wheel, does it just pull off, then is it a case of disconnecting the wires??????
Does it have to be tech 2 after

Angle the steering wheel to 90 degrees and remove the 2 screws...job done...but as said...disconnect battery and wait 15 mins to make sure it doesnt go off in your face :)

Once the airbag is off there is a small yellow safety clip to undo for the wiring then the airbag will come away from the steering wheel.

Don't reconect the battery and turn thie ignition on!!!!

Thanks chaps, got that
1) disconnect battery
2) go and have a brew
3) undo the two small screws on each side of wheel
4) undo the yellow clips
5) lift off airbag
6) Remove wheel, (should be fun without a puller)
7) Refit new wheel
8) torque the wheel nut up (Anyone any idea what to)
9) reconnect battery
10) Bobs your uncle.
Cheers gents... :y :y

you forgot
8a) Replace airbag
8b) reconnect yellow clips
If you don't you'll get an airbag warning and that does 2 things .. it disables the WHOLE airbag system, and needs a tech2 to reset
:)

If you rattle and bang on the steering wheel for a while it suddenly seems to come loose and shoot off takes a bit of time sometimes though...
