Mine doesn't cut in until the gauge reads 100, i've heard others say theirs kicks in at just above 90, my engine runs normally at 85.
Is it possible i might have the wrong stat fitted? it was replaced when the head gasket was done apparently.

Mine kicks in around 96-98. Think this is about right. Soon comes back down when the fan kicks in though. usually in traffic or town.

mine kick in at about 92

95-96 mine
mine was 100 when i was losing water

Old engine was 95 degrees and ran at 90. Replacement engine runs at 85 and cuts in at 91, so don't trust the temp sensors for the gauge!
-
mine reads 0!
gotta change the sensor apparently, and ive heard its a bit of a devil to get to, buried underneath the throttle housing somewhere?
great...

It's right at the back of the head - and the spade connector slides onto the top hat on the sensor so may have come off.
