Title: HELP! Exterior door window rubber removal
Post by: SmiffyMan on 27 June 2008, 22:44:24
I'm gonna have a go at repairing the rust spots under the exterior window rubbers on the doors. Anybody help with how I get them off! I'll work it out but help would probably save me half an hour  or so! Many thanks.  Ian

I've never removed one from an Omega, but I know on most cars the rubber will usually be connected to a series of clips which will also connect to the lip of the door skin.

So I'd sugest a little light levering, maybe with the window fully opened.

But as with many bits of trim, it can often be harder to re-assemble than to strip down!

Watch out for any clips falling to the bottom of your door!

I've just taken mine off and all i did was gently lever the strip out.  now i was not aware of any clips holding it in and can find no evidence of them - looks like it just pushes back in

hope this helps

I did mine two weeks ago, rubbers as you say just pull out and no clips, ground all my rust down to bare metal and got body shop to blow in tops of doors  and other bits (did a great job),new rubbers cost £65 from vauxhalls and you cant really get them anywhere else as there one of those items vauxhall dont let repros's be made of,i did  ask autovaux and they could get them for £5 less or so but once p+p added it worked out the same, also filled the channels below the rubbers with waxoil for future protection. :y
