I have been getting an issue where the ABS and TC light comes on.
I spoke to a guy in VX who said it is just a switch as the ABS and TC are still working even when the lights are on.
Restarting the car resets the lights.
Where is the switch for this and how easy is it to sort.
There is nothing on the paper clip test (Yay)

dash lights and speedo ok? Any other issues?
-
just that, everything else works

Hm, have some experience of failed abs ecus but not sure that fits your symptoms. So not really able to help you, experts will be along i am sure. Maybe try a search in the mean time.
Sorry.
Ps i am not sure the paper clip test will read the abs ecu just to prepar you.

I don't believe the VX guy. TC illuminated means that it is not working: prove it to youself - find some grass, wet roundabout and apply boot - you'll see it is not working.
THe light comes on when Tc is disengaged by the switch.
As to ABS it cannot be disengaged. I'm not sure if the paperclip test will read ABS codes. i don't think it does.
My guess is that if ABS and TC lights are coming on together then there is a fault in the ABS system (TC relies on ABS for operational info) also note speedo and cruise control also take a feed from ABS unit so if the ABS unit is on the way out you may have problems with those systems.
Someone more knoledgable than me may come along and confirm wether you can paperclip the ABS ecu, if not then it is a tech2 jobbie

just so you know the TC is working I had a play when both the ABS and TC lights were on and it was fine. ABS the same

hmm - TC light on with mine means its a handful! can easily get sideways..... this has got me stumped

If the lights are on then as a safety i would take it that the are non functioning.
even if the ECU is giving a false signal, the face that it is doing this would imply that there is something else wrong

ABS ECU breaked!

What year is your Tourer?

P plate 97
could it just be a dirty sensor?

i get the same symptoms and can say with confidence ABS/TC is not seriously messed up. it is enough to restart the car for the lights to switch of. in my case it happens only when the car is not driven for a few days

anyone any further ideas on this?
