This may have been discussed before but I just wanted to be sure.
After the recent heavy rain, (driven though some rather large puddles) the other day, I have found that the front passenger footwell is soaked!! :'( :'( :'(
What do I do?

Hi Richard, ask around your friends & neighbours if one of them has one of the round vax carpet cleaners, thats what I used to dry out my carpets when my drain blocked up.

I would really echo that.... Or remove the carpets and foam matting beneath (quite a bit of work though) so you can really get the water out the sound insulation beneath the carpets. It gets stinky otherwise.... :y

AAhhhh!! Sounds like a right pain in the ass, VAX sounds easier but I don't think I know anyone with one of those!!!
:'(

You could always try your local car valet place and explain whats happened. The fella may just water vacuum the carpet to within an inch of its life for the price of a couple of pints.... ;)
-
Worth a try I suppose! I'm gonna get a hairdryer on it to dry the rest of it first, and see how it goes, I checked this morning and It didn't smell as bad as I expected it too!!!

I used my mates vax after my heater matrix went, top job and done in 10 mins
-
Same happened to me - could hear the fan sucking water!
Re: smell - there is a panel under the glovebox that has some foam insulating on it that soaks up loads of water, it stays wet for ages. Might be worth taking it off and leaving it out to dry
-
I recommend VAX too - great after last years floods
-
Well its not looking too bad, I have fully dryed it now, then got some febreze spray, and when I got in the car this morning it didn't smell so touch wood!!!
I don't think it has been as bad as other peoples, never heard the fan sucking water or anything like that!!
I only found out after I picked up the girlfriend from town the other night and she took her shoes off!! then she started complaining her feet were wet!!! Hehe!!

Well looks like I got away with it! The smell has completely gone now! back to normal!! Phew!!
Once again OOF has helped another thicko out of the sh*t!! :y
