Morning all,

Whilst driving home after dropping the kiddies off to school this morning there was a really strong smell of petrol. When I parked up I lifted the bonnet and looked underneath the car which is when I happened upon this

Now, I guess the bearing and the smell of petrol are unrelated but can anyone tell me where this could be from?

Firstly are you sure it was from your car?

Looks like part of a childrens toy - eg roller skate or folding scotter

well at least you are 2p better off.. ;D

do you mean it was on the ground?  if you just parked up in a random spot I doubt it just happened to fall off  when you stopped.   Or was it lodged somewhere in the engine bay?

It was on my drive under the car, wasnt there yesterday and only the omega has been parked there.
Does look like a bearing from a skateboard but no one down my road has one.

Obviously nout to do with the car so will bin it and forget about it :)

out of curioupidy, have you cleaned it or was it found in that condition?

Only thing I can think of is that it's out of an alternator or other ancillary. I suspect you'd know about it if it came off your car though. :-/

It was found in that condition Danny mate.

I would say that it was fom a kids toy, scooter skateboard but my kids are the only kids in the road - and they don't have skateboards. They have scooters but they have been in the shed for the past couple of months.

The only thing I can think it being from is a pulley - but as Kevin said, if it was from anything like that I would certainly know about it.

However, the car is not running as it should, that being said I don't think this would have anything to do with the gearbox so I am stumped
