When I park my car on a slope (boot down below), the engine seems to be running on 5 cylinders, but this doesn't happen otherwise.
I was thinking fuel pump.
Any ideas ?

sounds like a bit of drain back have you checked pumpin tank? is it worse when your low on fuel? i.e. around 20 litres?
-
Indeed ! Sometimes the engine even just stops for no reason...

I was going to suggest low fuel level.
Try parking the same way when you have say half full tank and see what happens.
Never happened to my TD.

Fuel tank supply pump on its way out me thinks ;)

Thanks lads.
Would it just be possible that the aforementioned pump be dirty ?
Oh, and by the way, when the tank is reasonably full it does the slope thing too, but the engine doesn't randomly stop.

Thats because the weight of fuel above the pump is helping it ;)
