Title: Cruise control....
Post by: steverubberduck on 05 July 2008, 23:52:45
I have a 98 mv6, doesn't have cruise control, but would be interested in getting it installed.
How hard would it be to get installed?
What parts are required?
And, how big a job would it be?

On the left side of the engine bay (as you look at it) secured by 3 bolts (which I believe are there whether cruise is or not as are the electrics for it) to the inside of the wheel arch, just left of the engine...actuator cable runs up to the accelerator arm...

I bought a S/H cruise-actuator, cruise-stalk and a 4-terminal brake switch...the whole install took an afternoon.....I had to re-mount the secondary coolant 12 Volt pump which added about an extra half-hour to the normal 2-3 hours to comfortably needed to install the cruise....no need to techII at all and an easy installation job; the resultant system works really well! :y

Same unit etc but as the cable runs to the tip of the plenum where the accelerator cable runs to...the short plenum version will be too short...will have a long plenum version next week though...
