I have a 98 mv6, doesn't have cruise control, but would be interested in getting it installed.
How hard would it be to get installed?
What parts are required?
And, how big a job would it be?
-
I think there are a few people that have done it on here....
Not sure how hard it is to do though...
Someone will be along soon or tomorrow with an answer for ya mate :y

:ypage 4 of the maintenance guide section.

Just install the control box, actuator, indicator stalk and pedal switch/es not hard at all...got everything you need here from a 98 3.0 elite...£45 delivered if you want it :) Longer plenum on yours isnt it???
-
where is the control box?
-
On the left side of the engine bay (as you look at it) secured by 3 bolts (which I believe are there whether cruise is or not as are the electrics for it) to the inside of the wheel arch, just left of the engine...actuator cable runs up to the accelerator arm...
-
oh right,so i have everything then,so with all that connected it should be all working,no need for tech2 then?

I bought a S/H cruise-actuator, cruise-stalk and a 4-terminal brake switch...the whole install took an afternoon.....I had to re-mount the secondary coolant 12 Volt pump which added about an extra half-hour to the normal 2-3 hours to comfortably needed to install the cruise....no need to techII at all and an easy installation job; the resultant system works really well! :y
If you click the following link; which is the very helpful 'OOF Cruise How-To':

Yes, assuming 3.0 not 3.2
-
Short or long plenum?
-
3.0 long plenum
-
I have everything you need but just sold the long plenum version to steverubberduck lol Getting another one next week though :) If you want it then its yours :)
-
does the short plenum one not do,i have all the stuff if it does
-
Same unit etc but as the cable runs to the tip of the plenum where the accelerator cable runs to...the short plenum version will be too short...will have a long plenum version next week though...
