Title: LPG - Lambda values
Post by: philhoward on 08 July 2008, 22:40:14
I've added LPG to the front of the post to make finding it easier after the discussion elsewhere..

OK, about to connect the electrics for the LPG kit but need some info on the Lambda settings.  Autronics 820, by the way.

Lambda heating time - any ideas?
Lambda voltage -am i right in thinking that the Omega is a 0-5v sensor, not a 0-1V one?  Or am I confusing it with V6 ones?  It also says "straight or inverted" in the software.  Also a resistive setting (pull up, pull down or disabled)...any ideas, chaps??

Failing all that, i'll just try a manual valve and ignore the EML light...

X20XEV has a 5V lambda, and I guess it's a "straight" one, as the signal is low at lean and high at rich (just like standard zirconia sensors). The inverted sensors are the other way around.

I wouldn't dare to say anything about heating time, but my lambda appears to be pretty much operational after 10-20 seconds depending on ambient temperature.

Ditto!

Many Thanks chaps...was baiting Rickyboy with this one a little as I know he's also running an X20XEV!

30 seconds for the heating time, then...

I personally give it 5-10 mins before tuning just to make sure but 30 seconds would probably be about right.

It's the figure to go into Closed Loop control - i'll wait until its warm (engine and vaporiser) until i start playing with it anyway.

At least i have a figure to start with - I start it and drive away immediately anyway.  Thanks to the Autobox, it holds onto 1st and 2nd for the first 1/2 mile to help the cat etc warm up anyway!  The only way to get below 3000rpm is hit the Winter button..
