As you stand at the front of the car looking at the engine.
Where the Aux Belt Tensioner is (top left pulley) there is a plastic cable tray running horizontal, you should have a connector on the top of this cable tray that fastens to a small metal bracket. This wire comes from down behind the alternator over the top of the Cambelt Cover and plugs into the wiring harness at this bracket.
Hope this makes sense :y

The Knock sensors are "conveniently" located under the exhasust manifolds and above the engine mount approx where the end of the air con compressor is, or on the other side a few inches behind the alternator and a few inches higer than the alternator.
I would think it is a total pane to get to in situ. I changed one very easily with the engine on the garage floor (only one bolt)
I would think access from underneath is easier.
Sorry did not take any pics.

Had the same problem on mine.
Its easier to do it from underneath, but you need to remove the alternator to get to it. with the alternator removed, the knock sensor is mounted on to the side of the block with a torx bolt.
I managed to solder the wire back together
