Title: ECU swap

Will there be any problem swapping the ecu under the bonnet from a 3.0 Elite to a 2.5 CD? i ve got 2 remote fobs can i set them up or do i need a Tech 2?

The 2.5 CD ecu will not run the 3.0, the other way round maybe. The keyfobs are matched to the central locking unit not the ecu, if you can get the central locking unit from the car you got the fobs from and fit it, then your fobs will work (without re programming)

The control module is located behind the drivers kickpanel, you need to remove the vauxhall sil plate from the side, undo the torx screws from the panel below, then underneath near the front is another torx screw, remove that.  I think its a T15 torx screwdriver you need...

Then by the accelerator is another torx screw, remove that, then pull the panel out.

The module is then secured in underneath the harness for the stereo, there are 2x10mm plastic nuts which need removing, then you can gain access to remove it.

Hi swapped the ECU tickover was a bit higher and it seems more responsive ,
central locking sorted key fobs working, result
