Sorry i'm sure its here somewere but i have only just registered so i am a 'newbe' !
Have Omega 2.2lt 53 reg estate. Climate control not getting cold. Recently had a service and gas re-charge so before i go back to the garage anyone have any ideas ? Thanks

Sounds like a possible leak, if just re-gassed, it will probally need to go back and have a dye put through it to highlite any leaks, I would say that is gonna be the first place to start.

Cheers no sign of any leak but i'll have a look ,early days so still investigating !

you wont see a leak m8 as its a gas its not going to leave any residue the only way to tell if it has a leak is to go back to have it tested with an ultra violet dye sorry

Had my aircon re-gased lasted about 6 weeks and it stopped working. Took it to quick-fit for a service. They charged £44 to re-gas and test it for leaks, which they said it passed. Six weeks later no aircon. Called out a specialist, at home service and he checked it with a hand held specialist gas detector/ sniffer. Went ballistic when poked down any of the dash air-vents. Diagnosis exchanger gone and it’s a dash out job. New car I think...

rule is take it to a specialist. NOT halfords or quick fit up
they can top up your gas all day, sure.
But if it needs a "top up" ask yourself where has the
has the gas gone? In a sealed system!
99 times out of 100 it has a leak. Usually in the
Condensor, first place to look anyway. Hope helps.

The system will likely lose gas over time, but we're talking years.
If you've lose it that quickly, you have a leak, most likely the condensor thats in front of the rad.
-
For air con use a specialist NOT KwikFit or Halfords.
KwikFit gassed the Estate - all leaked out less than 24 hours - got money back after argument.
Big hole in condensor.
Swapped out & my local mobile guy checked it all out & regassed + oil + dye - now OK. All for £50

Thanks for those reply's.So it could be very bad news if 'exchanger' gone,or maybe not so bad if accessable leak or condenser,
Will let you know later this week .

i've got the same problem - £50 regas at halfords was no use - got full refund with no trouble - its going in to a specialist this morning - he's sure its a big leak (probably the condenser :()
i'll let you know how it goes :-/

Yes s0ds law it'll pack up in a heat wave be interested how you get on and how much as mine goes back to garage on thursday, cheers.

just to let you know - took it to a local specialist - checked the system - no leaks, just vacced it it out and regassed it - works fine now - took him about 15mins - £50 - job done :)
as others have said - NEVER take it halfords or kwikfit etc - if it needs regassed you cant just pump new gas in to a sealed system - you can cause serious damage
if its leaking - you'll need a specialist, if it doesnt leak - see a specialist to properly vac and regas - costs the same :y
hope you get it sorted ;)
