Post by: bigride on 01 August 2008, 22:58:03
Hi there guys I have an Omega 3.0l V6 Elite 5 - door saloon.

Time has come to sell her as i am looking for something better on fuel.

The car has Part service history MOT & Tax a few rust spots on the rear arches and needs new lights at the front.

It’s got 95k on the clock. I have owned the car since 2003 and have been very much loved. All are welcome to come and see and help me out if you guys can.

I know I have missed out some information so just help me out here! :-?!!

All help is much appreciated

In 2002 I sold my 1996 N reg 3.0 Elite auto, 4 door (not 5 as you state) with 160k but on the clock, but with fdsh, for £3,000 cash.  Now I reckon, frankly, you would be lucky to get £500/600 for it in the present climate. :'( :'(

I know what you mean; that Elite I mentioned was purchased at £11,000 just THREE years before selling it (after much marketing!) for £3,000. :'( :'( :'(

It is criminal, when selling, how these great cars lose their value, but great when buying one as I did recently! ;D ;D ;)

Another great bargain there tmx! :y  At that price you could afford to walk away from it / sell it for scrap in May 09 if too expensive to keep going, otherwise run it into the ground until it stops!

As for the 3.2; yes the tax is a factor to consider, but if you can get one cheap enough, and they WILL exist, then the extra £2/300 per year will be worth paying for a good late example of an Elite. ;) ;)

Going on the raw money aspect of things (bangernomics)...9 months tax is about £150, and anything which drives is worth £15/month of MoT...they paid you to take the car!

the 820 was abit of a joke as the engine can handle stupid amount's of boost! the turbo will be getting turned up later   :y :y :y

needs new exhaust manifold gasket & the silencer needs sealing

Just make sure you have a stock of gearboxes - that was the reason the boost was limited to "only" produce 200 lb/ft of torque

id place a bet that 3.2 elite / mv6 saloons will fall in price to around £800ish while pre 2001 migs wont depreciate very much the 2.5 tractor estates are the most valuable after according to my "Black book"

Book price for a Y Reg F/L 3.0  P.Ex price is £ 700 - £1200 depending on mileage and condition
