Hi All,
My 2002 Omega 2.2 CDX Auto does not take 1st gear, only on high rpm, like 5000. Although if I put it in drive, and press winter mode, it will start fine, but I guess it is because it starts in 2nd gear. I was told that automatic gearbox drive bands are slipping in first gear.
Can I fix this problem home, or is it easy to fix? what part do I need to exchange or looking for to fix it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

No nothing.

most important thing to check is the atf oil level, it
Should be level with level plug hole on the side of
The autobox having engaged all gears. Service every
60k with filter and clean the magnet. Remove both
sumps, guide on here, while in there see if you find
any debris, plastic thrust washer iirc, can break.
But most ills are cured with oil level sorted.
Edited, just seen your location.
Service every 60.000miles. Or the 96.500 kilometers.
